1. The UBOMI medical outreach is for how many days?
2. How many beneficiaries/ patients are we expecting to serve during UBOMI?
About 4000-5000 beneficiaries will be attended to, during UBOMI.
3. Who are the primary target audience/ prospective beneficiaries for UBOMI?
The economically challenged and less privileged in the society, (dealing with healthcare challenges) regardless of tribe, religion ethnicity etc.
4. What are the working hours for volunteers during the outreach?
8am to 5pm. This is however relative to different units, as some will run shifts or run longer hours.
5. Is there a training or orientation program for first-time volunteers?
Yes. All volunteers will go through an orientation programme.
7. Will there be feeding for volunteers and beneficiaries during the outreach?
Feeding will ONLY be made available for volunteers, and not beneficiaries.
8. How can I sign up to volunteer as a medical practitioner outside Nigeria?

9. Do all interested medical volunteers who sign-up to serve, qualify automatically?
No. Interested medical volunteers who sign-up to serve are interviewed by our medical technical partner, and only successful volunteers will be contacted.
10. How is the safety of volunteers ensured?
Volunteers’ safety is a priority and will be ensured at all times. Personal protective gears such as face masks, medical scrubs, etc. will be provided for all volunteers. Environmental safety protocols will also be disseminated during volunteer briefings, before and during the outreach.
11. Will teleconsultation be adopted for out of station medical doctors?
No. Teleconsultation services will be considered in the future.
12. Do medical volunteers need to bring their own medical equipments or will they be provided for?
Not necessarily. All medical equipments required will be provided for.
13. What is the expected patient-to-volunteer ratio?
1:20 per day
14. In case of emergencies or unexpected situations, are there protocols in place for volunteers to follow?
Yes. Our medical techincal partner have instituted/ standard protocols in place, in case of emergencies. Ambulances will also be on standby, to convey patients requiring tertiary or intensive care, for medical emergencies.
15. Will accommodation be provided for out-of-town volunteers?
Yes. Provision has been made to accommodate confirmed medical volunteers in a hotel, who live outside of Lagos, Nigeria.
16. How will confirmed volunteers transport themselves daily, to the project site?
Transportation to and from the project site, will be provided for volunteers who reside in the hotel.
17. How can volunteers prepare themselves for the unique challenges and circumstances of the target communities?
An orientation programme will be conducted for all volunteers., ahead of the outreach.
20. Will there be provision for Post-Op care for patients who undergo surgery ?
Yes. Post-Op care for patients who undergo surgery will be available at no cost to the beneficiaries.
21. Are there opportunities for future collaborations/ participation in UBOMI beyond now?
Yes. Pistis Foundation is open to future collaboration with potential partners, volunteers, and Organizations with shared ideologies, in achieving set objectives to restore lives and impact communities.
